Happy Fall! Sweater weather is welcomed. Activities are in full swing for the fall months, including activities like painting pumpkins, roasting marshmallows, and taking country drives. Discovery Kingdom Offers School Age Programs to Help Parents

No matter what your choice for the school year is, as a parent rest assured Discovery Kingdom is here to help. Our new Study Center will assist school-age children, who attend the center, with their online studies throughout the school year. The Study Center at Discovery Kingdom will be used by students who have specific school assignments that need adult supervision to ensure they are completed. Children will be moved from the regular classroom to the Study Center where the environment is more suitable for concentration and completion of homework. Heritage Health Care Campus is hosting an estate planning event November 21 from 6-7 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public. Timothy R. Alley from the Chamberlain Law Group will provide information on "Estate Planning and Options to Pay for Care Without Going Broke."   General estate planning topics including Powers of Attorney (health and financial), Wills and Trusts and how to pay for care over time through the use of VA benefits, Medicare and Medicaid.  Alley received his undergraduate degree from Cedarville University in 1993 and his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2001.

Marshall Goldstein to Participate in Chef Throwdown

Heritage Corner Health Care Center Culinary Director Marshall Goldstein will be participating in the 7th Annual Wood County Committee on Aging Throwdown September 28 at Penta Career Center.  The throwdown will feature chefs from area senior facilities showcasing their talents.  Chef Marshall is the reigning People’s Choice Award winner. This event is intended to encourage friendly competition between local business, invite the community to sample the great creations from their chefs, socialize and enjoy the afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere. Visit us at the Wood County Fair

Summertime means county fairs!  The Wood County Fair will take place from July 29-August 5. Senior Citizens Day at the Wood County Fair will be August 1st.   Heritage Corner Health Care Campus will be providing bottles of water for the noon lunch served that day to seniors.    The lunch effort is coordinated by the Wood County Committee on Aging.
